The enforcement of judgment debts
The discretionary maximum amount chargeable for an unsuccessful attempt at the enforcement of a judgment debt is up to £240. The standard fee for a straightforward case will remain at £50 if only a minimal amount of work is required to establish that the judgment is unenforceable. That notwithstanding, additional work will attract an increase in fee. Generally speaking the new scale will only be charged on successful enforcement or with the lodging of an arrest on wages.
