The lower family court deals with private family issues such as divorce applications, civil partnership dissolution applications, children applications and adoption applications.
The Magistrate’s Court is the first court of the criminal justice system in Jersey, it deals with criminal proceedings against people who are 18 or older. A person younger than 18 is dealt with in the Youth Court.
The Tribunal Service is a department of the Court Services of the Judicial Greffe established to hear certain types of claims and appeals under various laws.
The Viscount's Department is responsible for executing orders made by the Royal Court of Jersey, as well as certain other activities set out in statute.
