Probation and After-Care Service Overview

The Probation Service

The Jersey Probation and After-Care Service exists to provide the parishes, courts and prisons with a high quality information service and to supervise those offenders entrusted to it in order to reduce re-offending, allow restitution and protect the public.

Jersey Family Court Advisory Service

In family proceedings and other matters concerning children, the Jersey Family Court Advisory Service serves the Royal Court by providing reports and advice, which represent the best interests of the child.

Respect and Dignity

In all its work the Probation and After-Care Service promotes respect and dignity for all and with due regard to the Council of Europe’s Probation Rules, the European Convention on Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We truly embrace difference and recognise diversity makes our delivery stronger.  We strive to create a workplace where every person feels respected and valued, no matter their background, characteristics, or experiences.  An inclusive culture is essential to us - one where everyone feels a genuine sense of belonging and is treated with fairness and equity.

Our dedicated DEI initiatives drive meaningful change across our organisation, including providing training and resources to increase understanding, as well as designing and implementing policies that reflect our commitment to equity and respect for all.  We also have a variety of employee-led networks that give our people a platform to connect, share experiences, and contribute ideas.  They focus on many key topics, including neurodiversity, disability, race, ethnicity and culture, LGBTQ+, menopause, men's health and inspiring women into leadership and learning.
